Sunday Coffee Talk #2 – Someone New

Do you know the feeling of falling in love with someone new?

The tingling feeling in your stomach, the heaviness on your chest everytime you see them. You take every chance to cross their path.

You suddenly like the things they like, listen to the music they listen to, watch the movies they like to watch… And google their names countless times.

But it’s not only that you fall in love with them, it gives you a new love for yourself. You get dressed up, take care of yourself. You give your best to impress them. You want them to see the best version of you so you become your best version.

The happiness and lightness you feel every time you see them. Nothing can compare to that. However, no other feeling gives you that much vulnerability either. You open yourself up for that person.

It’s somehow magical really.

Embrace it. Enjoy it as long as it lasts.

How to… Style for a Concert

HOW TO

Concerts are always lots of fun. What’s even more fun, is to get dressed for them! Last Tuesday, I went to the Cigarettes After Sex concert  (it was amazing, check out their music, my favourites are Apocalypse and K). So, I went on Pinterest and got inspired!

Here are my favourite pieces and styles for great concert looks:

Overknees & (Band) T-Shirts

In my opinion, overknees combined with a longer grey t-shirt and a leather jacket look so cool. It’s simple but you can always spice it up with a red lip, lots of jewellery or your hair style (see below). Also, band tee’s are always a great option to go for.

Denim Jacket3

Instead of a leather jacket, you can also go for denim jackets. They make the look more neutral and less edgy.

Glitter Make-up

If you are good at make-up, try to spice it up with glitter highlights. You will for sure stand out.

Red lips7

Red lips: always a good choice. I love really dark red lipsticks.

Lots of jewellery

If you know me, you will know that I always wear lots of jewellery – earrings, lots of rings, a necklace, … Concerts give me even more reason to be a little extra haha

Wavy hair

Wavy long hair looks so good and can be styled in so many different ways (see pictures above). I especially love wavy hair combined with hair accessories like in the first picture. It’s probably difficult to do yourself, however it will surely look amazing.

What style do you like the most? And what was your favourite concert?

xx Chris

DISCLAIMER: I found all of the pictures on Pinterest.

Sunday Coffee talk #1 – Who are you… really?

„Remember who you are. Without the number on the scale, your report card or your bank account. Without the amount of friends you have, or the expensive things you own. Know who you are; your raw true self.“ – Source

People always define themselves by numbers and names. If you were to ask me „Who are you?“, I would probably say „My name is Christine, I’m 20 years old, I live in Vienna and I study corporate communication“. But we are so much more. We can’t merely be defined by all those exterior things and labels. And honestly, none of this even really matters in the long run.

In years from now, people won’t remember you because of the weight the scale shows you, the things you own, the clothes you wear or the money you have. They will remember how you made them feel. How you carry yourself even though you are skinnier or weigh more than the „standard“ size, how modest you are even though you own a fancy car, how you express your true self with the clothes you wear and how you treat others even though you possess a lot of money. In the end, that’s what matters most.

Moreover, you can take all those things away. You can take away the money, the clothes and cars, but nobody can ever take away your personality, your true self. The person you are, when you are genuinely happy and nobody’s watching.

People often say that the key to a happy life is within yourself. I my opinion that is true. If you are able to make yourself happy, without the help of anything or anyone else – you have found real happiness. Then, nobody will ever be able to take it away from you. It is inside of you and you can carry it with you no matter where you go. You free yourself from all the strings that attach you from the outside – from all the things you thought would make you happy.

So get in touch with who you really, truly are. What makes you laugh out loud? What fascinates you so much that you just don’t want to stop talking about it? What awakes that fire inside your soul? That urging feeling to go and do and live? Find that. Find out who your soul is and what you want to do.

Write it down. Take pictures and stick them on walls. Post them on Instagram. So you will remember it forever. Even if you have those little moments of doubt. Everyone doubts themselves and their personality sometimes, but that just life – it comes and goes in seasons.

"motivation" "motivational quotes" "motivational speeches" "intrinsic motivation" "motive" "identity" "heart and soul"

I stumbled upon the quote above and realised that I am so much more than all the things people usually define themselves by. I am Christine and twenty and from Austria, but I am so much more than that. I am how I can make my friends feel, how I make them laugh. I am the way I can motivate myself – and my ambition. I am the way I am instantly happier when there is that summer feeling in the air. How people give me so much energy and working out calms me down. How I have such an urge to get into nature and go some place with hills and the sea. How I always want to dance and sing and entertain others.

What is your true self? How would you define yourself if somebody would ask you who you were? Spend time creating your identity and never stop doing so.

I wish you all a great sunday,

Christine

Life Update #2 & April Style Inspiration

beitragsbild

Today I want to update you on some exciting things & I want to show you some of my favourite Pinterest style inspirations for spring! Let’s start with the life updates:

Moving to Hamburg

Yes, you read that correctly! I will move to Hamburg for a few months in the second half of this year. I will do an internship in an advertising agency and I am beyond excited to go there and explore the city. I fell in love with Hamburg when I was there the past summer, so I’ve applied to some agencies there, and luckily one of them wants me as an intern! 🙂 Let’s see what this experience will hold for me

Bella Roma, here we come!

Last week, my friend Anna and I spontaneously booked a flight to Rome this June. I love Italy so so much, and I already missed it a lot which is why I was really happy when she showed me the Urlaubsguru offer she found.. We just had to book straight away! I’ve been to Rome twice already, but I will take every chance I get to go back.

Every time I fall in love with a place, I leave part of my heart there. Maybe that’s why I tend to always come back there after some time.

Getting back on track

I have finally (!!) started to work out regularly again – and it has never been so much fun. Working out is the perfect „Me-Time“ for me, it gets my stress and frustrations out and has such a positive and meditating effect for my mind. Especially now that the weather gets warmer each day, I really enjoy being active.

Much love and happy Easter in advance,

RECIPE: Home-made Granola

granola header.jpg

Last week, I tried to make granola myself for the very first time and it was so easy and so delicious that I will show you how I did it in this post!

What you will need
  • Oats (I also used quinoa pops)
  • Seeds: you can use any seeds you want (I used chia seeds, linseeds, sesame seeds and sunflower seeds)
  • Dried fruit: cranberries, raisins, dates, etc.
  • Nuts
  • Spices: Cinnamon, cardamom, cocoa powder
  • Sweetener: Honey, agave syrup, etc.

For your home-made granola you can literally mix everything you want together. You could also cut some apples or bananas in slices, you can throw some chocolate chips into the mix… The ingredients are totally up to you and your preferences.

What to do
  1. Preheat the oven (150°C).
  2. Mix the ingredients in a bowl.
  3. Put the mix on a sheet.
  4. Put the sheet in the oven and let it bake for about 20-30 minutes.
  5. Take it out and let it cool down.
  6. Enjoy!

It’s incredibly easy to do, doesn’ttake much time and your kitchen will smell amazing afterwards.

Try it out, it’s not only healthy because it doesn’t have the extra sugars and oils like the granola you get at the grocery store, plus it’s based on your favourite ingredients. Trust me, you will love this after trying it for the first time!

Much love, Chris

Asos Haul Review

Asos haul (2)Last week, I didn’t feel like myself. That sounds quite dramatic, but I just didn’t really know who I was or what kind of person I want to be (kind of like a short identity crisis), and I also felt as if all of my clothes just didn’t represent me anymore. I opened up my closet and I couldn’t find anything to wear. Normally, it’s not like that at all – I used to look into my closet and instantly feel inspired!

So, I knew something was wrong.  I don’t quite know why I am feeling that strange these past days… maybe it’s the fact that I gained some weight or maybe because I just changed as a person?

Anyway, I instantly decided that I need to change something! So I went online and did quite the Asos shop haha – clothes always lift my mood!

Some of the things that I ordered were amazing (I kept most of them), but some of them weren’t at all. Maybe this little review helps some of you or gives you new outfit ideas 🙂

Beige Sweater

I am absolutely loving this purchase. I used to look for a pullover like this but never really found one that had a nice cut. This one however is perfect, and super cozy! I will probably live in it the next few days haha

Size: I got a European 36 – I ordered it a bit bigger than usual so it would be longer on me.

Price: 14,49€ (used to be nearly 30€ so it’s a great bargain!)

Wool Scarf

I ordered this scarf quite randomly, but I am loving the colour with my blond-brunette hair, so I just need to keep it know! It adds a bit of colour to my wardrobe, which is great for slightly colder spring days.

Size: one-sized

Price: 16,99€

Ripped Skinny Jeans

When I tried these on, I fell in love. They fit perfectly and I feel 100% like myself in them. I love everything about them – that they are high-waisted, that they are black and the rips at the knees. Also they are not too long on me, even though I am quite petite. Jeans-shopping is always really hard when you are short – I never find fitting pants in stores, I always need to get them online!

Size: W24 L30

Price: 41,99€

Disco Leggings

When I was about 16 or 17 I looked for pants like this everywhere, but I could never find a good pair! I first heard the term „disco pants“ when I watched one of Zoella’s videos and I fell in love – I just needed to get them. Now, yeeears later, I finally found a pair of disco leggings! They are quite thin, but I am really happy with the material and again, with the length. I am already excited to find different ways how I can style them.

Size: 34

Price: 25,99€

Rose-Gold Sneakers

When I saw these rose-gold sneakers on Asos I needed to order them. I think they look super cool, and I love the fact that they have a bit of a plateau (if you call it like that). Sadly, I was a bit disappointed when I tried them on. The size is great, but when you walk in them, they feel super heavy on your feet and you can’t really walk properly. I looked ridiculous when I tried to walk in them haha

I assume it’s because of the heel, but anyway – I will send them back!

Size: 36

Price: 38,99€

T-Shirt Dress

As you can clearly tell from the picture above, I have sent this one back as well! Honestly, this dress just looks like a nightdress on me.. I guess I am too short to wear something like this hahaha

Size: 34

Price: 20,99€

Turtleneck Shirt

This turtleneck shirt fit perfectly! However, I didn’t feel like it was quite my style – that’s the only reason I have sent it back. Other than that it looked great.

Size: 34

Price: 12,99€

That was my little online-shopping review! I definitely feel much more like myself now, especially with some of the new clothes that I got.

Do you ever feel a bit strange in your body? If so, what do you do to help yourself get out of that feeling?

Love, Christine

3 lessons for February

Today, I want to share three lessons with you that I have learned in February. I don’t want to go too much into detail, I will just put my thoughts out there and maybe it will make you think a bit about yourself too.

You should wear how you feel, it’s a way to describe and express yourself. This also made me wonder a lot about myself and what kind of person I want to be.

When you start to not give a f*** and just focus on what you really want to do, life becomes so much easier.

Just give. Don’t think about what you will get back. Simply give. But don’t let others use you and your helpfulness.

By the way, I wish you all a happy women’s day! I have so many wonderful women and girls in my life who inspire and motivate me each and every day, and I am incredibly grateful for them! Show the people in your life how much you appreciate them – but not only on days like this, everytime you think about it!

Spread love, Christine

February Favourites & Life Update

Today, I will show you some of the things that I have loved using & doing throughout February. First, I will write about my beauty-related favourites and in the end, you can read more about lifestyle-related things that I’ve loved this month.

Beauty

20180227_155216.jpg

Catrice Matt Eyeshadow Palette

This palette is perfect for everyday make-up! I mostly use the second colour from the left at the bottom row – I feel like that colour looks really natural on me and also suits my skin tone. What I also really like about this palette is that all of the colours are matt – it’s so hard to find an eyeshadow palette without glittery eyeshadows!

20180227_152611-01.jpeg

Catrice Prime & Fine

This powder is great if your skin tends to get shiny throughout the day. I bought it at the beginning of the month just to try it, and now I use it every single day, because it has helped so much to mattify my skin. Veeery useful!

20180227_1525550-01.jpeg

NYX Eyebrow Mascara

If you need an eyebrow gel to keep your eyebrows in place, this tinted brow mascara will do the work! It does a great job and isn’t as expensive as other eyebrow gels – it only costs about 10€.

20180227_152635-01

Hand Creams

In winter, my hands get super super dry – it actually hurts everytime I need to wash my hands or stretch my fingers! The hand creams you see in the picture above have really helped to reduce the dry-ness. Especially the one by The Body Shop has saved my hands throughout extra cold New York days.

20180228_0846220-01.jpeg

Schwarzkopf got2be Dry Shampoo

Normally, I only use baby powder if I don’t have time to wash my hair but I got this dry shampoo in a goodie bag last weekend, and it works so so well!! I am really impressed! Especially because the scent is really okay and fresh – normally, the scent of dry shampoo gives me a headache! Also, it doesn’t leave any white spots in my hair, so I will probably start buying this product after this little bottle gets empty 🙂

Lifestyle

Ballet

Now on to the lifestyle-related favourites: I started doing ballett again this month! I used to dance when I was about 8 years old and I also did jazz dance for 4 years as a teenager. I am not quite sure why I stopped, because I absolutely love dancing – it’s one of my biggest passions!

So now I am starting with the basics again. It’s quite hard and a bit frustrating because I have to re-learn everything again, and also – I am reeeeally not good! Haha But it’s so much fun, I enjoy it a lot and I already look forward to my next ballet class. I want to keep practicing and work hard, so I will get better and better each week! 🙂

Rupi Kaur Poems

I don’t read poems that often, but I recently discovered Rupi Kaur and her book Milk and Honey and I am so in love! Here are some of my favourite poems of hers which I found on Pinterest:

Music

I loved the Fifty Shades Freed soundtrack, and I am also a huge fan of Dua Lipa at the moment – I would love to see her live and meet her in person! I am also going to the Chainsmokers concert in Haus am Kaibling on March 2nd, which I am really excited for.

You can find some of my favourite songs this month in this Spotify playlist.

I hope you enjoyed my favourites this month.

Much love, Chris

UNI OUTFITS Week #1

Don't Panic, It's Organic.

Helloooo!

Today I want to show you my outfits of the week! It was my first week back to university after my semester abroad, which was really exciting for me. I basically wore the same clothes every other day, but switched up some things. This way I didn’t have to think so much about what I should wear in the mornings. As always, I will give you the link to the clothes if I can find them again.

Monday

First day baaaack! I was really excited to see my friends again, especially the ones that I haven’t seen for 6 months! I wore a soft, light grey blazer which I found in the Bershka sale a few weeks ago, paired with a plain striped shirt from Zara. I tucked it into black high waisted jeans.

For jewellery, I wore the same things each day: pearl earrings and some rings from H&M, and a gold heart necklace that I got from my mum for Christmas. (Jewellery is pictured best in the Thursday outfit!! 🙂 ) I also wore my overknee boots with every outfit, which I have already mentioned in this post.

Blazer: Similar (Bershka)

Shirt: Similar (Zara)

Jeans: Only

Tuesday

2

I wore a grey jumper which I got at C&A ages ago, tucked into some shorts which I got at Pull&Bear and black tights underneath. I bought the shorts one week ago and instantly fell in love with them! They look very business-y and chique, but are also really comfy to wear. I got them in the size S and they fit really well even though I normally wear XS. (They unfortunately don’t have them in XS)

Similar jumper: Similar 1 2 3 (Zalando)

Shorts: Pull&Bear

Wednesday

On wednesday, I wore the blazer from day #1 again. Underneath I wore a long black shirt from Vero Moda. To jazz everything up, I wore faux leather leggings which I recently found in my closet! I bought them at Pimkie when I was about 17 years old and then totally forgot about them. However, I was really happy to find them again because I really love mixing things up with different materials. In my opinion, they look super cool.

I am also wearing socks with small pugs on them (my favourite socks of all time haha). I couldn’t find the exact ones but I remember them being from H&M!

Blazer: Similar (Bershka)

Shirt: Vero Moda

Leggings: Similar (Zalando)

Thursday

I had an exam today and also a reeaaally long day, so I wanted to be comfy today. I wore the same leggings as yesterday (I honestly just love them), the same black shirt from Vero Moda and on top I am wearing a light sweater from Zara. I really like styling cropped jumpers over longer shirts, it changes things up a bit.

Sweater: Zara

Shirt: Vero Moda

Leggings: Similar (Zalando)

That’s it for this week! This Friday, I am free so I have a looong weekend which I am really thankful for!

Which of the outfits did you like best??

See you soon and much loveee,

Christine

Ball Night & Prom Dress

20180209_202002_004_01-01

There is nothing more than an occasion to dress up. This year I went to the „Bonbon Ball“ in Vienna with my partner in crime, Melanie. It was such a crazy and adventurous night out and I loved every second of it.

Many people have asked me where I got my dress, so I thought – why not make a blog post about it?

The dress is from the brand Lace & Beads, and I ordered it through Zalando two years ago. I got it in the size XS, but I still had to shorten it a bit. It’s feels very nice, is not too tight and just really beautiful. I couldn’t find my exact dress in the only shop, but Lace & Beads has some other really nice dresses which you can look at here.

Much love, Christine
